Im not sure how others would react - but how about if i was: a food journalist? Or perhaps even a culinary tour guide?
i've commented a couple times on how little variety there was in my pantry - but my garden was plenty enough to feed even the most hungry, and fickle eater. Theres always a constant supply of:
Guavas,
Sugarcane, Spring onions,
Green, Red, Orange and Purple Chillies, Figs,
Blood Plums, Baby Mandarins,
Sweet potato, Bitter Gourd,
Winter Melon, Aloe Vera,
Ginger, Lemon Grass,
Lime, Lemon,
Vietnamese Basil, Mint - and billion other herbs
Not to mention the occasional supply of Mangoes, Rocket, potatoes etc..
There was a time when there was always fresh eggs in the morning - from my three chickens. And occasionally there was fresh chicken and duck - which i refused to eat.
Anyhoo - I just thought id highlight whats there - because the garden has been suffering lately. Mostly because of the water restrictions. Some are drying out - but some plants are loving the dry conditions - and have completely over taken the garden. I have the vines of winter melon from the backyard causing melons to pop up on my front yard. =S
I also - have to plan - i need to make an impression in the holidays. I'm thinking japanese french fusion. Unagi Vol Au Vent's anyone?
